About Me

WELCOME – MABUHAY!

Welcome to my own little section of the internet. A space outside of social media – but surely still a way to connect. If you just happen to have visited my page randomly – Mabuhay! (it is Filipino language meaning “Long live” or basically a sweet “Hello!”). If you have followed my story on my other online accounts so far like Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest or YouTube – Nice to see you again, Beauty! I’m more than happy to see you here, too.

ABOUT THIS PLATFORM

As a girl who always loved the internet and computerization ever since I was 10 years old, I always wanted to create a space that gives me the opportunity to be creative online without being driven by social media trends or fulfilling obligatory creative tasks from my main job. An online platform in which I can channel my creativity, share my thoughts, experiences and personality while staying true to myself but at the same time embrace the vulnerability that comes from sharing odd fashion mistakes or even fashion faux pas – and maybe not fashion faux pas only. Honestly, this tends to happen over years – I mean, cross your heart it may already have happened to you, too? But that’s fine. It’s a symptom of being creative, testing out, personal growth and simply evolving personal style. So, please bear with me if not everything I do, or wear is to your taste.

MY PASSION

I owe my passion for cosmetics, aesthetics, fashion and lifestyle topics to people in my life – my Mamita, Maria Magdalena, Grandma Anna, to name a few people. But I am also strongly inspired by the annual seasons and the variety of color and textures they bring. Last but not least the impact of Filipino/Asian culture that put a big focus on pageants and outstanding beauty trends, various fashion weeks and fashion magazines that I much preferred to watch, read and study in my childhood than children’s books or book reads in school.

LET’S CONNECTAND INSPIRE

I may not be one of the “super influencers”, but I would love to create a platform and community where we can share about what our heart desires. This platform isn’t just set up for me but for all of us to share and inspire each other. With that being said, there is basically nothing more I would love than hearing from you and listening to your ideas and feedback – like simply having a chat with your sis or bestie – and let’s not forget about chichirya (which is Filipino again meaning “snacks”), tea and coffee. Social media sites nowadays are not only full of positive vibes and constructive criticism. Unfortunately, today you are very quickly confronted with the negative sides of the Internet, so I would like to address the matter here again. I kindly ask you to respect the netiquette. It is perfectly fine to express your personal opinion, but please do it with respect and a little sensitivity never hurts anyone.

MY ROOTS

Some of you may wonder why I try to blog or create content generally in English. For you who don’t know me personally, I am a German-Filipino citizen born in beautiful Vienna, Austria but I grew up in a town in good old Germany. Therefore, my mother language is German, second language English and broken Filipino language – I do understand some Tagalog but my Cebuano / Bisaya is much better speaking and understanding. So why did I choose English to be the main language on all of my channels? It was a heart over head decision to be honest! It may not be the perfect way to create high stats, engagement and conversion in the first place – from the viewpoint of online Marketing – as I am located in Germany but as a half Filipino and half German, I grew up under the influence of two entirely different cultures in a global world. So, for this reason I want to create content and a platform in the international universal language “English” for my German and Filipino family and friends to understand and for you –  this community – to engage, escape and get inspiration wherever you are from around the globe. Please forgive me, if my English isn’t always correct. May it be in written form or spoken but I’ll try to make sure you will get the context – I’ll do my best!

So without further ado, let’s get the chapters of life fill this platform with love, inspirations, thoughts, hopes and plans for the future. Enjoy life and let TADHANA (which is Filipino meaning “fate”) handle all – I believe TADHANA must be a reason why you are here – so welcome again to my own little section of the internet on which I share extracts of my life.
